AYSO National Games

AYSO National Games are held every two years with teams selected through a lottery. The National Games are an opportunity to bring together different AYSO Regions and Sections to share in the diverse soccer culture of the AYSO family. This occasion focuses on sportsmanship, team spirit and making new friends through the activities and events that are offered during this weeklong event. The next National Games will be held July 4-11, 2010 in West Palm Beach, Florida. Palo Alto has been invited to send a team in the U19 Boys division and the U16 Girls division.

Please contact Coach Dejan Milojicic for information about the B19 team and for information on the G16 team.

Palo Alto AYSO 2009 Summer Soccerfest

Palo Alto AYSO will again be providing an opportunity for kids to play soccer this summer on Saturday mornings from 10-12am. Soccerfest is intended to provide a safe environment for kids to come together and play soccer, with no coaching, refereeing or spectators shouting from the sidelines. AYSO provides the fields, pinnies, cones, balls and Safe Haven-certified monitors. The kids choose up teams for pick-up games and provide the fun. There will be two games: one for U12 players and one for U14 and older. In addition, if there are an equal number of boys and girls at the younger age then we will have a boys-only game and and a girls-only game.

There are 8 Soccerfest Saturdays:

  1. June 20
  2. June 27
  3. July 4 - NO SOCCERFEST
  4. July 11
  5. July 18
  6. July 25
  7. Aug 1
  8. Aug 8
  9. Aug 15

You may attend any or all of the sessions. Best of all, this is all free of charge.

Who can play:

Soccerfest is open to all players (boys and girls) who were registered in the Fall 2008 season or are registered for the Fall 2009 season, in the U12 to U19 age groups. If your player will be playing at the U12 level or above this Fall then they are eligible.

What is required:

Shin guards and permission form are required!

Bring a copy of your AYSO Player Registration Form, signed by a parent, to the first session you attend. You will not be permitted to play without a signed form.

You can print out the forms you need by doing the following:

  1. Go to http://www.ayso26.org/
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page
  3. Log in using the username and password you have previously used to register your son or daughter.
  4. When the WebYouthSoccer page displays, click on "Form Package" in the left-hand column.
The browser will load Acrobat and display the forms.
  5. Print a copy; sign it; and bring to the field.

If this doesn't work, just come to the field with a pen and your health insurance information. We will have blank forms for you to fill out when you get there.

Shin guards are required.
Prompt pickup of your child at 12pm.
Cleats recommended.
Drinking water and sun screen strongly recommended.

Where and When:

Greer Park fields #1 and #2, from 10-12am on the Saturdays listed above.

How much does it cost?

No fee.

Volunteers needed:

We are looking for coaches, referees and parents who would like to volunteer as field monitors for any of the Soccerfest sessions. Safe Haven certification is required. If you don't have this certification. it's easy to get it through an online training course that takes about 30 minutes. Please contact if you are interested.
