AYSO Region 26 Board Meeting - August 18, 2005 Cubberley A3, 7:30pm Scott Christenson presiding Attendees: Marcelo Clerici-Arias, Dave Elward, Mick Jordan, Cindy Jose, Marco Schuffelen, Rob Schreiber, Margaret Toor 1. July minutes approved. 2. Game schedule. The original schedule will be posted in WebYS and the AYSO website. After a week, the html pages will be taken down. Schedule changes will only be reflected in WebYS. 3. Practice and game field situation. Field times and assignments to divisions are revised. 4. Commissioner comments - Margaret - Suggests that next year the coach meeting is scheduled earlier, and that the team rosters are released earlier as well. - Mick - Suggests that we recruit division commissioners the previous season. That is, that toward the end of fall 2005 we recruit division commissioners for fall 2006. - When a team has no adult coaches, an adult who has taken Safe Haven should be designated as team parent. - Marcelo - 26 youth coaches are active at this point. - The coach link is only active after the division commissioner approves the volunteer as a coach. Unfortunately the coach link also contains the volunteer form. Suggestion for next year: either the division commissioners approve coaches earlier or WebYS allows volunteers to edit and print their volunteer form outside the coach link. - Marco - Field lining volunteers are trickling in. - The City of Palo Alto has not yet sent the list of fields that AYSO has to paint. - Scott - 190 players in U8B. There will be 19, possibly 20 teams. - Dave - Coaches and referees of U16 and U19 need to attend an area meeting. Scott McGee, the area U16/U19 coordinator, will send a message with details. - If there are odd teams in U12B and U14B, they will be playing with odd teams in Los Altos and Ravenswood, respectively. Mick, Margaret, and Marcelo suggest not having an odd team in U12B. - Rob - Referee classes are scheduled, and the referee handbook is ready. - Referee division coordinators are in place. - Senior referees will be observing referees in U10 games. - No changes in FIFA laws of the game. 6. Next meeting: September 28. 144 Melville Avenue, 7:30pm.
