AYSO Board Meeting Minutes August 23, 2006 7:30-8:30 PM, Cubberly Board Members Present: Saul Rotblatt, Rob Schreiber, Marco Schuffelen, Ray Wong, Chuck Malone, Dick Leask, Dave Elward, Margaret Schmitt, Sawako Tajima, Wendy Freeman Others Present: Carolyn Lambert, Maurice Please note: These minutes are from 8:10 forward. They do not include all of the topics Saul covered. Proceedings: 1. VIP Program - Chuck Program is for children physically &/or mentally disabled, age 4 through high school AYSO has a strong structure & literature Teams will fit 2 different levels Registration currently 16, probably will go to 20 Weekly scrimmages, possibly Sunday afternoons at Hoover, 1:30 or 2 PM, 1.5 hours of play Hoover has 4 U9-sized fields and restroom facilities Uniforms will be reversible Volunteers Referees - hope parents will do Buddy Partners - advertised at Paly, working to get at Gunn Possibility of sharing at Coaches Meeting if high school players do not have conflicts with their own games VIP Soccerfest - end September or early October, will try to attend, Section will cover all costs Action: August 31, Thursday, VIP Class for Coaches, Referees, Parents and Buddy Partners Action: Saul to reserve a room at Cubberly Action: Maurice to confirm instructor - Van Nelson 2. Referee Administrator - Rob LCD projector has been purchased Referee Training - all set for September, web has been updated U10 & U12 schedules - need ASAP in order to schedule referees Reminder: As a non-profit, AYSO receives 10% off on purchases 3. Chief Boys Commissioner - Ray Rosters - all out except for U9 & U14, need coaches and referees All rosters will be out by Friday, 8/25 Labor Day Soccerfest - have 15 players from U12 & U14 Girls, will attend as long astournament has enough teams Action: Saul to contact Cathy about U19 Girls team & possible merge with Los Altos (U19 Boys has 2 teams) 4. Field Permits - Dick Leask Permits will be picked up Thursday, 8/24 Action: Dick to see about scanning permits for online availability (coaches can print from website), possible contact is Sandra Action: Dick to work with David on introduction for Select Program 5. Game Scheduling - Dave Field and Team Counts - Dave needs these for game scheduling 6. Fields - Marco Initial Lining - Labor Day weekend, should take ½ day, already surveyed and set corners Re-painting - have enough volunteers Seale Park and Addison had some fencing; these and all school fields should be okay 7. Maurice Mayfield - open to public if fields are free, schedules are on bulletin boards along with rules Game schedules - very close together, can not be late New Acting National Executive Director - Rick Davis Only regional impact is possible effect on section conference in Reno 8. Treasurer - Margaret Bills - please bring to board meetings if you have any P.O. Box - Who owns it and is authorized to get keys - Carolyn? How many people can get keys?
