Refresher Clinics

Returning referees not attending an AYSO referee certification course this fall, must attend one of the one-session Refresher Clinics.

There are separate clinics for the different age ranges, each focusing on that level's laws and procedures.

You must be registered as a volunteer at http://volunteer.ayso26.org

Refresher Clinics are designed to help referees who officiated games last season get "back into the flow" at the start of the Fall season. The latest changes to the Laws of the Game will be covered, and questions and issues of interest to the attendees will be discussed.  New Law books and other referee reference materials will be available.

Arrive a few minutes early!  We need to start on time so that we can keep the session to an hour.
Referee equipment will be available at Cubberley Community Center during the fall classes, generally timed to coincide with the classes for new U8 Officials and new Regional Referees. See the Clinics Calendar for available times to pick up equipment.

Be a Referee Instructor!
There's no better way to improve your understanding of the Laws than to teach them.  If you are an Intermediate Referee or higher, we would like you to be part of our instruction program in Region 26.  We put 150 new referees on the field every year and can use your help.  We will:
  • Provide an opportunity to dialog with other instructors on interesting and challenging referee issues.
  • Give you a specific, focussed assignment that may take no more than a few hours.
  • Give you a choice of hands on instruction or classroom instruction.
  • Provide a great way to give back to your community.
  • Provide service points toward getting your Advanced or National Referee Badge.
  • Give you a really cool Referee Instructor polo shirt!
